<p>The Kimbell Art Museum, owned and operated by the Kimbell Art Foundation, is recognized worldwide for its distinguished collections and iconic architecture. The museum's extensive range of collections spans from antiquity to the 20th century, showcasing European masterpieces by notable artists like Fra Angelico, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Poussin, Velázquez, Monet, Picasso, and Matisse. Additionally, the museum houses significant collections of Egyptian and classical antiquities, as well as artworks from Asia, Africa, and the Ancient Americas. The museum's main building, a creation by the eminent American architect Louis I. Kahn, stands as a pinnacle of architectural excellence in the present era.</p>
<p>In November 2013, the museum added a second structure designed by acclaimed Italian architect Renzo Piano. This innovative application offers users audio and visual insights into the treasures within the Kimbell's permanent collection spanning diverse periods and cultures. The content delves into background information on featured artists and the museum itself. Delivered by a museum curator, conservator, and the museum director, the application employs pinch-screen technology to provide users with intricate close-up views of each object. Users can explore objects randomly, embark on one of two audio tour programs, and share their enriching experiences on social media platforms.</p>
